Specimen is described on page 60 as such “Among the larger objects a small incense burner encrusted with carp and water plants (No. 194) is a MASTERPIECE OF TECHNICAL SKILL. By the use in his designs of these alloys, together with gold, silver, copper, and iron, the Japanese craftsmen has achieved results in color WHICH ARE UNRIVALED IN THE METALWORK OF THE WORLD.”
